- Spider-Bat: Come on, Garg. Be smart about this. If you just let my friends go, it'll go easier for you down at Arkham. If you don't , then I'm gonna have to pummel you.
- Gargoyle: [laughter] You? Pummel me? You've never been able to outfight me before. At least, not on your own. You had help, such as this lovely creature for instance...
- Zatanna: Mph-aph!! Mph-aara-phr!!
- Gargoyle: Such an exquisite face and figure. I can see why you're drawn to her.
- Spider-Bat: Hey, keep your claws off her, creep! Like I said, your problem's with me, not them!
- Gargoyle: Hmm? It would seem I struck a nerve. Perhaps you'd rather I roast the Cockney chain-smoker here instead? [plasma cannon charging up]
- John Constantine: No, no, he wouldn't, that's quite all right!
- Spider-Bat: You don't have to hurt anyone, Garg...
- Gargoyle: I choose my path, and to put on tights and interfere with mine... A hero they call you... [scoff] You know people love more than a hero? A martyr!
- Spider-Bat: Okay, but before you kill me, can I just quickly thank you for focusing on me and thereby allowing Zatanna enough time to slip her bindings and remove her gag?
- Gargoyle: Oh, [expletive]-

[magic energies coalescing, electrical feedback, metallic clank, metallic clank, chains rattling] Take that you cre- [maniacal chuckle, plasma fire, explosion, scream, jet thrust, whack, thud, plasma fire, pained grunt, wooden chairs smashed, chains snapping, maniacal laughter, jet thrust]

- Gargoyle is a pastiche of Green Goblin (with elements of the Joker), so obviously Spider-Bat, a pastiche of Spider-Man (with elements of Batman) is his arch-nemesis; both are original characters created by Spider-Bat700.
