The Kryptonian genome is difficult to tamper with but there are exceptions to this rule. The Kryptonian scientist Non-Ur had unlocked the secrets of the genome through illicit scientific research and thus created the Ultimate Lifeform now known as 'Doomsday' from Kryptonian DNA. Cadmus Labs' attempts to create a genetic template comparable to Superman, without knowing the difficulties of the Kryptonian genome beforehand created the freakshow known as 'Bizarro' who can expel heated breath and siphon heat from objects simply by staring.
