Garrett Miller: 1996 - 2008

Garrett is the second child of Morgan and Jane Miller. During birth, Garrett was discovered to have suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury to his sacral vertebrae. Whether this was during his development in the womb or in the birthing process was not clear. As he grew older, he retained some sensation below the waist, including his legs but he never gained the ability to support his weight on his legs or walk. From an early age, Garrett became reliant on a wheelchair for mobility.

While Garrett's family was saddened to see Garrett unable to walk, the young boy thought they were making a big deal out of nothing. Garrett loved his wheelchair and he never let this "disability" stop him from doing anything he wanted to do.

In school, when a bully made fun of the wheelchair, Garrett punched the kid in the knee, dropping him to the ground. Garrett then launched himself out of his chair, tackling the boy on the ground and proceeded to beat the tar out of the bully until three teachers rushed in to pull the boys apart. Garrett spent a week in detention, but the bully had to use crutches for a month and after this, the two boys became friends.

Though he never was jealous of us bipeds for our ability to walk, Garrett was very envious of his older sister Lisa who had gained some fame as a teen actress in a low-budget teen drama: Witchwood High. Despite his jealousy, Garrett did as his parents asked and did whatever he could to help support his sister's acting career, often rehearsing scenes with her.

When his sister graduated from high school, the Millers decided to uproot their family and move to Star City to better accommodate Lisa's acting career. Garrett was sad to leave his friends, but he was excited to see Star City and fancied himself rubbing elbows with filmmakers and action stars in no time at all.

Unfortunately, most of Lisa's big production sets were not as accommodating as those in Maple City had been and did not allow Lisa to bring her younger brother with her. Garrett felt neglected for the next few months as the rest of his family were busy with work. Garrett worked through his depression with physical training and extreme sports, again not letting his so-called "disability" interfere.

Garrett Miller: 2012

While doing some urban exploring in Star City's expansive utility tunnels, investigating rumors of green men and giant rats living beneath the city, Garrett did have a couple of unusual encounters. He met a community of homeless people using the tunnels as shelter and who were being preyed upon by some sort of supernatural creature. Garrett asked why they hadn't called the Ghostbusters and they looked at him like he was talking another language. Garrett tried reciting the awful TV ads but then realized that the community lacked access to television. Garrett wheeled himself back to the surface, made the call, and led Ray Stantz and Winston Zeddemore through the underground labyrinth to the bust.[1]
