Scott Pilgrim: 1992 - 2009[]

When Scott was born, his life was meaningless. When he was 3, his parents had a daughter and suddenly, just like that, his life had purpose: being the second best Pilgrim child.

Scott was an average kid until he turned fifteen and displayed some psionic potential (one year after his younger sister showed her own). Scott was promptly enrolled into the metahuman assessment program. On his first day at St. Joel's Meta-Academy, Scott got into a fight with three older boys from a rival academy. Scott lost the fight and was brought to the principal's office while his parents were contacted. Whilst waiting, Scott met fellow meta-student Lisa Miller.

Scott inadvertently latched onto Lisa with his unknown empathic powers. Over the next few days, Lisa pestered Scott and eventually became his friend... and first girlfriend. Wanting to spend more time with Scott, Lisa came up with the idea to start a band. Shortly after this, Scott met Kim Pine, another female student. After working together with Kim on a history project, Scott's power made her his next unintended target, spurring her with an empathic anchor same as Lisa. When Scott learned that Kim played the drums, he invited her to join the band. The two girls became friends despite their rivalry for Scott's affections. Scott was mostly clueless to the girls' interest at this point.

According to Scott, he returned to school from a weekend off to find that Kim had been kidnapped by students from the same rival academy that instigated a fight with Scott on his first day. Believing that Kim's abduction was some sort of retaliation against Scott for their previous quarrel, Scott rushed in to rescue Kim. He claims he fought his way through 8, 18, or 80 students (the numbers vary with each telling) before he got to Simon Lee, the culprit responsible. After an "epic" duel, Scott rescued Kim and in so doing, Scott awakened his romantic interest in Kim. The two began dating, much to Lisa's dismay.

Scott enjoyed the remainder of his time in high school, however, this came to a sudden end when our family moved to Maple City, forcing Scott to leave both Kim and Lisa behind.

Scott Pilgrim: 2009 - 2015[]

At MCMA, Scott and I fell into a tight-knit group of psionics, including Stephen Stills, Wallace Wells, Julie Powers, and Natalie Adams. Despite Julie's attempts to keep Scott from dating her, Scott's empathic bond latched onto Natalie and the two formed a relationship. Scott, Natalie, and Stephen formed a band called Kid Chameleon. Slowly, Natalie began to change, eventually adopting the new name of "Envy."

As Envy took increasingly control of the band, Scott and Envy's relationship reached breaking point and the two had a big argument which resulted in them breaking up. Scott and Stephen Stills formed a new band, with help from Kim Pine who had moved to Maple City.

Scott Pilgrim: 2015 - Present[]

Following his breakup, Scott moved into a small apartment with his "mentor" Wallace Wells, washes dishes and plays bass for his new band, and went through a phase where he was dating a high schooler...

Supplemental Reports[]

  • (Submitted by Mento) I was interested in recruiting Mr. Pilgrim and his sister years ago into my program for psionic development, but Director Bones told me that there were logistical obstacles with the Canadian Ministries. Maybe it's for the best, really. Being associated with the Doom Patrol comes with a crazy life. Last thing a psionic like Scott needs is an unstable lifestyle.
  • (Submitted by T4Teen) My "little" brother, Scott tends to be forgetful and even naive to some point. His comments seem to indicate that he sees himself as flawless and perfect when it comes to relationships. I've literally heard him describe himself as a "Paragon" in this regard. But let's be honest, he blames any problems in said relationships on his girlfriend and seems to repress any flaws he has, apparently forgetting his mistakes and all the bad things he's done in a relationship. I guess he does this to make it easier to live with himself. This unusual attitude means Scott usually gets over breakups very quickly. I am concerned that if he continues to neglect owning up to his flaws and mistakes and keeps bottling them up, they're going to manifest later on or come back to haunt him.[1]

Trivia and Notes[]

 Trivia[]

General[]

  • Scott Pilgrim is a citizen of Maple City. He's the bassist for the indie rock band Sex Bob-Omb, but he's also the dishwasher at the Happy Avocado to pay the bills. He's also a metahuman. Scott has an elevated psychic potential. He's quick to point out that he's not psychic, at least in the normal sense. He just has a more powerful aura than normal people and he has not really noticed it does anything for him other than giving him an odd perspective on things.
  • He owns a Red X t-shirt. Not because he idolizes him, but because he likes the design.[2]
  • He calls the percentages on the nutritional info label as Power-Ups.[3]
  • His first guitar used to belong to his mother. He destroyed it when he used it to decapitate a robot.[4]
  • He won a Meta-Martial Arts Tournament while attending the St. Joel's Meta-Academy. The picture taken of the event also shows Kim and Lisa angry with each other. According to Scott something's wrong with it, because they were happy.[5]

Relationships[]

  • Stacey's meta-gene activated after he caused a fire in a garage. Stacey inhaled too much smoke and blacked out. Scott dragged her out of the smoke-filled garage and called for an ambulance.[6]
  • Scott and Kim's relationship is "specific":
    • Kim and Scott cannot agree how they met and have argued about it for hours before. Scott insists it was a history class. Kim says it was geography. Everyone else thinks it's totally not important.
    • According to Kim she was so overcome with feelings for Scott that she ditched school the day of their geography presentation to go to Benvie to break things off with her boyfriend. However, he did not understand what Kim was telling him and refused to believe they were done. In the course of the following argument, Kim says Scott busted in to beat up her ex and Kim's emotions were so overcharged that she could not help herself. She threw herself into Scott and gave him, what she calls, "the fattest, sloppiest kiss imaginable." Just like that, among battered and bruised Benvie Tech students, Scott and Kim became an item. This contradicts Scott's story.
    • In hindsight, Kim regrets how she and Scott began their relationship. But Scott insists it was romantic.
    • Kim pines over Scott. She keeps insulting him and his girlfriends. And yet, even when Scott is single, Kim makes no move to reignite their past romance.
    • Though not a "fan" of Scott's actions (and vocal about it), Kim seems to be his truest "friend".[7]
  • He gave Neil Nordegraf the nickname "Young Neil" Scott had previously met his father and to keep the Neils straight, Scott insisted on always calling the son by the name "Young Neil" - which caught on for some reason. Regardless of this, Neil really took to Scott and began emulating Scott - in look and behavior. Scott's drinking led to Neil's overdosing on booze, becoming comatose and activating his meta-gene. Scott stopped calling him Young Neil in 2017.[8]
  • Stacey thinks Neil is in love with Scott:
    • Neil hates being called "Young Neil" but he lets Scott call him that without any objection at all.
    • His hair and manner of dress make him look like Scott's clone.
    • Despite being Stills' supposed best friend and roomie, she always sees Neil following Scott around at parties. But it's very possible Neil is just avoiding being around Julie.[9]
  • After being ostracized by his friends, Wallace wormed his way into Scott's life after he became Stephen's new roommate. The two became an unlikely duo, in spite of Scott dating Natalie - who was the one friend that seemed unwilling to forgive Wallace. hen Natalie dumped Scott, Wallace was quick to step in and give Scott a place to crash. He's been supporting Scott since.[10]
  • When Envy broke up with him she left him crying in the middle of the street.[11] Scott's also fully aware his last haircut was three hours before it and he has been cutting his own hair ever since.[12]
  • Ever since the breakup he had trouble with his memory. He can't remember any events in the year that followed. He also experienced memories plagued by despair, but Scott thinks these memories were happy.[13] He also says he doesn't drink alcohol.

Ramona and the Seven Evil Exiles[]

  • Scott met Ramona Flowers in his dreams. In her efforts to make speedy deliveries while trying to live a normal life on Earth, Ramona began using a path through the Dreaming which Scott was a witness to once while he was in a state of lucid dreaming. That event somehow triggered some psychic feedback which bound Ramona's dimensional travel to Scott's specific psychic signature, causing her to keep popping up in the middle of Scott's dreams, daydreams, and idle thoughts. When Scott later met her in real life, while she was in Maple City searching for Scott to figure out why their fates were so entwined, Scott could not resist asking her out (even though he was currently dating Knives at the time). The two have since begun dating, but with that came a unique complication.
  • He started to hear voices in his head since April 5th 2016, first time during a party at Julie's house.[14] The voice was present before.
  • Ramona convinced Sex Bob-Omb to go on a tour with help of her powers, hoping to avoid the exiles, but it was only a matter of time before one of the seven found Ramona and attempted to bring her back into the fold. When Scott sees this, he does not understand what is going on (having partially tuned out while Ramona was explaining the situation to him before) and assumes some creep was putting the moves on his girl. When Scott intervenes, Ramona's "ex" asks if Scott is Ramona's champion. Scott says he is (without understanding what that all means) and the ex accepts the challenge. Bound by ancient laws of the Void, this triggers a series of seven duels against Ramona's seven evil exiles to win Ramona's freedom once and for all.[15]
  • When he defeats an Evil Exile they explode into a token. As long as Scott have them the defeated Exiles can't attack him again. He currently has the token's of Matthew Patel,[16] Lucas Lee,[17] Todd Ingram[18], and Roxy Richter.
  • He exchanged Lucas' mithril skateboard for a gift of clarity. He experienced memories of his relationship with Nataline/Envy.[19]
  • The voice inside his head exchanged an endowment he received from defeating Todd for the Power of Love - a sword.[20]
  • He has moved in with Ramona.
  • For defeating Roxy and the twins he exchanged the endowments for sword called Power of Understanding, a surrogate soul (a sort of an extra life) and a summoning vortex.

Notes[]

  • Scott Pilgrim is the titular character from the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series.
  • There are a lot of differences between the graphic novel and the Earth-27 version of Scott:
    • The world of Scott Pilgrim is full of unexplained powers and things. In Earth-27 he's a metahuman psychic.
    • In the graphic novel Scott also had a brother named Lawrence West.
    • Scott got the dishwashing job in the Vol. 4. In Earth-27 he got it before the events of his storyline.
  • Scott calling the nutritional info Power-Ups is a nod to Scott Pilgrim Free Comic Book Day Story and the drinks were actual power-ups.
  • In the graphic novel Scott received an extra life for defeating Todd Ingram.
