Zuul: ~2 Billion BCE - ~6000 BCE[]

Before her fall, Zuul was a great Principality, an angel with a Denomination of wonder, glory, and beauty. She and her mate had sided with Lucifer in the Morningstar Rebellion. For her part in the insurrection, Zuul and her mate were both stripped of their names, their grace, and even their physical forms.

Sometime after her fall, the former angel became corrupted by the infernal power of Hell and became a demon. She took the name Zuul, and her mate took the name Vinz Clortho. Due to lacking physical forms and appearing as shifting clouds with eyes, Zuul and Vinz Clortho were denied the intimacy they had previously enjoyed. In her misery, Zuul traveled the great expanse of Creation and its subsidiary realms. Hoping to find a means to have her existence destroyed completely, she ventured into the forbidden realms of the Foundation.

In the Sebouillian Wastes, Zuul came across the seat of that realm, the great pyramid known as the Sebouillia. She had heard the Lord of the Sebouillia could unmake Zuul's cursed form. However due to a failed attempt to siege Heaven, the Lord of the Sebouillia — Gozer the Gozerian — had been left weakened and imprisoned in their own manse by two of Zuul's former siblings: The archangels Raphael and Saraquael. The archangels had long since left, but a battalion of seraphim had been left behind to guard the Gozerian and prevent escape.

Zuul slipped past the guards and communed with Gozer, hoping Gozer would destroy her for her intrusion alone. However, Gozer did no such thing. Instead, Gozer promised Zuul untold wealth if she could free the Lord of Chaos. To remedy Zuul's lack of a physical body, Gozer imparted Zuul with a dark portion of their own power.

Taking this power back to Hell, Zuul joined her nebulous form to her mate's, thereby sharing the tainted gift of Gozer. Zuul then returned to the Sebouillia with Vinz Clortho. The two forced their corrupted essence on two angels, taking their bodies for their own. Disguised as a pair of the guards, Zuul and Vinz slaughtered the entire battalion and freed Gozer.

Zuul: ~6000 BCE - ~1200 BCE[]

In time, Zuul and Vinz Clortho were sent to Earth and allowed to gorge themselves on worship, posing as gods over the ancient kingdoms of the Hittites, Mesopotamians, and the Sumerians. However, Zuul and Vinz Clortho were soon outed as false gods by the cunning archangel Gabriel.

Destroyed by their own pantheon, Zuul and Vinz Clortho returned to the Sebouillia to pledge themselves to Gozer once more to regain their forms.

Zuul: ~1200 BCE - Present[]

The demons became Gozer's heralds and generals, overseeing Gozer's conquest of a thousand worlds and the laying of waste to a dozen subsidiary realms of reality. All of this done to restore Gozer's power so that the Lord of Chaos could make another siege against the Silver City. Soon, the only obstacle that remained was the keystone planet: Earth.

When the plan was ready, Zuul took her host, completed a ritual, and opened the gate for Gozer. Zuul's victory was at hand...until her former host's boyfriend showed up and decided to be a hero.

Supplemental Reports[]

  • (Submitted by GothGurl) Zuul is known as a "Gatekeeper," that is a Herald with the power to create a gate between worlds. In Zuul's case, this gateway connects to the Sebouillia and allows Gozer to manifest on mortal planes. This gate is created through a mating ritual with a Keymaster. If you think "Gatekeeper" and "Keymaster" sound like innuendo, you get a gold star. While the two infernal mates love nothing more than to get it on, there are other complications that stand in their way. First of all, Zuul needs to find and protect a suitable place. The "gate" requires an obscene amount of geomantic energy for stability. Second, to forge a "key," Vinz Clortho requires a significant endowment of essence native to the realm which they intend to bridge to the Sebouillia. Third, is the matter of hosts native to the world. While Vinz Clortho can possess just about any fertile schmuck, Zuul requires a host of significant occult viability in order to survive the conception and sustain the life of the anchor until delivery. The anchor does not need to be born to create and open the gate, only created and in its creation: Be endowed with the key. So there you have it. How to summon Gozer in four extra-sexy steps! Now if you'll excuse me, I got to go babysit the cutest infernal anchor ever![1]
