Kylie Griffin: 1997 - 2010[]

Kylie is the only child of Kyle and Gloria Griffin. Kylie had a rather normal childhood for the first nine years of her life but does not discuss much of this time in her life owing to a childhood friend of hers, a neighbor boy named Jack, who went missing during the aftermath of an earthquake. As the last person to see Jack, Kylie became a focus of the investigation and underwent extensive therapy to cope with the trauma. She only truly returned to what most would call "normal" when she became a teenager.

Kylie Griffin: 2010 - 2012[]

It would seem Kylie was not meant to live a happy, cookie-cutter life. As she was making advancements in her life at school and finding friends of her own, her home life became tumultuous. Kylie's mother and father had begun to argue constantly, prompting Kylie to avoid her home as much as possible, often spending the night at her grandmother's house.

Grandmother Rose was a free-spirited woman who taught Kylie the old traditions of her family's past history with druidry and Rose's own Wiccan practices.

Kylie Griffin: 2012 - 2013[]

During Kylie's sophomore year in high school, she decided she needed a job to make her less financially dependent on her parents. She went through a number of "garbage jobs" until a search for a rare book for her grandmother's birthday brought Kylie to an old bookstore. The bookstore was disorganized as its previous owner had passed away recently after a long struggle with cancer and the store's upkeep had fallen to her nephew, Ray Stantz.

Ray could not find the book Kylie was looking for in the cluttered space but told her to feel free to search for it on her own. Kylie spent six hours searching for the book and organizing the place as she searched, but did manage to find the book. After seeing that Kylie had single-handedly organized the shop's basement in search of her book, Ray couldn't bring himself to charge her. Kylie thanked him and she got as far as the sidewalk before Ray chased her down and asked her if she'd like a job. Kylie was hesitant as "book store clerk" did not seem very exciting, but she agreed to at least help him get his shop back in order.

That temporary arrangement was meant to last a weekend, but it soon became a week, and then a month, and then months. By the time her summer vacation was on the horizon, Kylie came to think of Ray as her "sweet uncle." The Ghostbuster had even become a regular part of Sunday dinners with Kylie and Grandmother Rose. Kylie could not bring herself to quit the bookstore and it grew to become a major part of her.

Instead of going on a summer vacation with her school friends, Kylie decided instead to take a summer class offered by Ray in the basement of his bookstore. Kylie and three other students would be the very first participants in a new, extremely experimental Ghostbuster 101 course.

Of course, just weeks after class had begun, Kylie and her fellow classmates would get a crash-course in proton packs when Star City was besieged by demons and the Ghostbusters needed all the help they could get. So at sixteen, Kylie became the youngest Ghostbuster ever.[1]

Supplemental Reports[]

  • (Submitted by GothGurl) Uh... so... "TurtleGurl84" said I need to include some trivia. Okay. So... I like to read. I have a cat, but he's like the exception. I'm not a pet person. I can't stand maggots. They're gross. My role models are my Grandma Rose, my Uncle Ray, and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark. I'm into vintage punk music. Really digging Mucous Membrane right now.
  • (Submitted by TurtleGurl84) So I met Kylie on my first day at Seaview. We were in the same Asian Studies class. She complimented my jacket and I thought she was being sarcastic. Honestly, I'm still not sure if she was or not. About a week later, I beat Kylie to correcting the instructor on some details concerning a Japanese folk tale. I must have impressed her as she met me after class and asked if I wanted to get an iced coffee. Once she learned my family had an antique shop, her eyes lit up. The next day she showed up at my shop with a familiar looking guy in a sweater vest. I mistook him for her dad which cracked Kylie up. That's when I took a second look at the guy and realized he was a frickin' Ghostbuster! After a few more iced coffees with Kylie, I decided that Kylie needed to grab a slice with my boys.
