Biography[]
Darien Wolf: 2004 - 2007[]
The fourth cub looked like a miniature version of his father's true form and he was the largest of his siblings at birth. Bigby had a sense that this pup would be the alpha of his pack and so they named him Darien (from the Persian words for 'good' and 'protector') and gave him a middle name referencing the Fables' newest protector: Danny the Street. More than any other cub, Darien had very little interest in taking human form. When he did force himself to hide his tail and sharp teeth, Darien would quickly shed his clothes and run on all fours whenever his clumsy human form would frustrate him. Darien was among the last of the cubs to master his human form, but even after he started school, his teachers would often catch him sniffing the other kids and ditching his clothes to run freely during recess.
Darien Wolf: 2007 - 2011[]
After starting school, Darien became the target of frequent field trips with his father, meant to toughen Darien up and prepare him to lead the pack. Darien humored his father for a while, but eventually, he began to protest these outings. Darien reasoned that Bigby was the alpha of the pack as he was clearly the more powerful wolf (being the Big Bad Wolf himself). But that did not put any brakes on Bigby's plans for Darien, arguing that if something were to happen to him, the burden to care for Snow and the rest of the pack would fall to Darien. Darien still scoffed at that, thinking Winter or Conner should be the alpha, but again Bigby did not entertain his son's suggestions.
In response to this, Darien decided that if his father was not going to listen to him, he would just have to make his father see what a bad choice for a leader he was. To this end, Darien began to outwardly rebel. He started off by pranking his parents and antagonizing his siblings. When that did little to convince Bigby, Darien began engaging in delinquent and petty criminal behavior to drive a wedge between him and his father — the sheriff.[1]

- (Submitted by Four-Eyes) Despite being the quintessential middle child, Darien is the alpha of the cub pack — whether he wants to be or not, that is his burden. Having mastered his lycanthropic nature much more than his siblings, Darien transforms with greater ease and retains his enhanced senses and a portion of his enhanced strength in his non-wolf forms.
- (Submitted by Herald) Darien, or "Dare" as most call him, is trouble. He has no interest in the burden of responsibility that his father is adamant he must take on and so he actively rebels against his father's authority. As Bigby is the sheriff, this means Dare usually breaks laws and pulls pranks on Danny's most influential residents. But I suspect Darien is a better kid than he lets on.[2]

- Mixed (Vorpal/Eldritch/Infernal) Physiology: Darien possesses high-concentrations of vorpal, eldritch, and infernal energies due to his unique heritage from having a Fable mother from a magical bloodline and a half-demon / half-daimon father.
- Aerokinesis: Darien can create, shape, and manipulate air (defined as the layer of atmospheric gases and various compounds retained by Earth's gravity). This includes the creation of powerful bursts of wind whether by magnifying existing airflow or exhaling the breath from his lungs (known as "huffing and puffing").
- Enchanted Charisma: As an eligible heir of the Silver Realm, Darien has the passive psychic ability to captivate the attention of humans and animals alike. Though he lacks the potency of his mother's "Fairest of Them All" gift, it is possible he could inherit it. Furthermore, as the alpha, Darien's enchanted charisma holds more sway with his siblings as well as with wolves, canines, and lycanthropes that feel inferior to Darien.
- Gift of Tongues: Darien has the ability to understand any language and be understood in any language. This includes the ability to speak to intelligent animals and read or write in languages that he has previously studied to some degree (even if only briefly).
- Supernatural Senses: Darien can see and interact with the unseen forces at work, such as ghosts and astral beings.
- Born Lycanthrope: Darien is a rather unusual werewolf, even different from most other born lycanthropes. He has no venom and the moon has little effect on his body or mind. Darien was born in partial wolf form and was unable to assume human form for the first three years of his life. During this time, he also aged at twice the rate of human children.
- Enhanced Senses: Werewolves have incredibly acute senses of sight, smell, and hearing. In all of his forms, Darien can see part of the infrared spectrum and detect the heat signatures of objects or people in total darkness. He can smell other living creatures within a mile (when upwind) and follow a scent regardless of the terrain. Darien can also hear the sound of a heartbeat within 100 feet in a quiet environment.
- Enhanced Speed: Transformed werewolves are incredibly fast with great reflexes and agility. Darien can run at around 100 MPH for hours on end without exertion or sprint at around 250 MPH for a few minutes. He can also jump and climb at remarkable speeds, in all of his forms. In his human form, Darien can sprint at approximately 75 MPH for two to five minutes before his adrenaline kicks in and forces him to transform.
- Enhanced Strength: Werewolves are immensely powerful beings. In his human or wolf forms, Darien has Class II Enhanced Strength. In his werewolf form, Darien usually has Class III Enhanced Strength — however, in the light of a full moon or when channeling the full capacity of his power as pack alpha, meaning the majority of his pack is near him and synchronizing their auras with his, Darien can muster Class VII Enhanced Strength for brief periods (though he'll usually collapse after a few minutes and require significant rest).
- Enhanced Resilience: Darien cannot be easily harmed by conventional weapons. His body is roughly six times more resilient to most forms of damage, excluding silver, adamant, and other magical means (though he is more susceptible to silver than his siblings). In his transformed state, Darien's even more resilient and able to completely ignore all forms of damage except silver, adamant, and magic.
- Immortality: Darien may continue to age but will likely stop aging somewhere between the age of twenty-five and forty. Regardless of when he stops aging, werewolves possess bodies that are not affected by common disease or ailments associated with aging (such as joint pain or poor eyesight).
- Metamorphosis (Wolf Forms): Darien can transform into the form of a large wolf or a werewolf (human/wolf hybrid), and can even sustain forms between his three forms. This change is not affected by lunar cycles like common werewolves, but Darien does find it easier to transform during the full moon. Darien's emotions can also trigger a sudden transformation. In particular, Darien finds it difficult to resist the "call of the wild" if he has been enraged beyond reason or if he or a packmate has been seriously injured. In his enraged state, Darien's howl has been known to be heard for miles and his roar can rupture eardrums (especially if he huffs and puffs with the roar).
- Regenerative Healing: Darien regenerates from injuries rapidly, even recovering lost limbs or removed organs within two days of rest. This ability is half as effective in werewolf form (due to the increased complexity and size).
